VELCRO® Brand High Technology Hook (HTH) is a high cycle life polyamide extruded tape that has very small hooks that are sat in rows where one faces the opposite to the other, this almost provides a two-way facing hook that engages extremely well with low profile velour "loop" tapes.
This tape is used widely in the medical industry in the making of orthopaedic braces and offers high sewing resistance along with the option to weld under high frequency using ultrasonic machines.
Due to the nature of the shape and size of the hook when used with velour it provides an exceptional grip on vertical "pull" but allows for a moderately easy separation. The two tapes when connected also offer a uniform closure when compared to conventional woven tapes as the velour and plastic hook is the same thickness along its entire length, whereas woven tapes can vary, subsequently causing a ripple like effect when closed, velour and HTH eliminates this.
